A New Hospital for Surrey!

As a local realtor, I enjoy promoting local events and worthy causes. This is one of those very such things, as Surrey opens the doors to Canada’s second largest Emergency Departments at the Surrey Hospital – Saturday, July 13th from 10 am – 3 pm.

They will be giving the people of Surrey and Fraser Health communities a chance to see inside Canada’s second largest Emergency Department, which opens to patients October 1st.

Tour their new, bigger, state-of-the-art facility – the size of 3 NHL hockey rinks! Emergency staff will be on hand for a show and tell

  •  See inside trauma room
  • Tour separate Pediatric Emergency Department just for kids, one of only two in BC
  • Learn how wait times to be triaged will be shorter
  • Peek inside the new patient treatment rooms (there are over 100 of
  • Check out the new electric stretchers (ER staff love them!)
  • Find out how they are reducing the spread of infectious diseases
  • Hear about the new CT scanner and mobile x-ray machines
  • Learn about new services for mental health and substance use patients
  • And much, much more!

Hospital parking is free during this sneak preview (see www.surreyhospital.ca for details), and the event entrance can be found at the SW corner of 94A Avenue.

So for all of you who have had family or friends on waiting lists to get into a hospital, or encountered life altering waits at an emergency visit, this is both a worthy event and a community resource worth checking out!
